A Hub of Social Opportunities

Unique individuals, social projects, and shared commitment—this is what the Community Center in Bamenohl offers in abundance. For young and old, tall and small, and people of every culture, religion, and nationality—this center is a welcoming place for everyone.

With a diverse range of offerings such as language courses, integration programs, a bicycle workshop, refugee counseling, and much more, the center facilitates connections among people. Through a wealth of volunteer work and heartfelt dedication, the center has become a space for support, counseling, and mutual exchange.

It’s even more gratifying to see how much these services are being utilized. Currently, 17 women are attending a language course, including an inspiring 82-year-old participant eager to learn—chapeau! The combination of simultaneous childcare allows participants to fully concentrate on the course. Meanwhile, 10 children enjoy a varied, kindergarten-like environment, making new friends in the process.

To offer these special projects, the Community Center in Bamenohl relies on financial, material, and personnel resources provided by various sponsors. The center is run by the Municipality of Finnentrop, which provides the facilities and employs a social worker as well as dedicated volunteers.

At present, the costs for the VHS language courses are being covered by the Eibach Foundation, which takes pride in supporting impactful local social initiatives.
