Athletic Insights into the Eibach Foundation’s Support Program

“How does sports benefit children?” This question often arises when people hear about a “youth sports support program.”

For several years, the Eibach Foundation’s initiative has been implemented at the Lennetal Primary School Network in Bamenohl and Rönkhausen. The program is based on the foundational principles of enjoyment, social competence, and development, delivered through the Heidelberg Ball School’s concept.

Birgit Kuklinski, board member of the Eibach Foundation, was welcomed by strong, lively, athletic, and confident children during her visit to the Lennetal Primary School Network. Thanks to the support of the Eibach Foundation, the children have the opportunity to explore various sports using diverse equipment and face new challenges regularly.

For over three years, Mariola Joschko (a tennis coach with specialized training) has been helping children incorporate enjoyment, determination, and teamwork in achieving a shared sports goal into their daily lives through playful activities. Regular evaluations track motor, social, and academic development, with each progress milestone bringing joy to parents, teachers, and the Eibach Foundation. These positive outcomes automatically answer the initial question about the benefits of sports programs.

The goals and aspirations of this program have been more than fulfilled, and it is a delight for all involved that it will continue in the next school year (2022/2023) with the incoming classes within the all-day school program.
